How Birthday Village works

From the first form to the moment the candles are lit, here is what happens and what families can expect along the way.

Step 1
A birthday is submitted
A parent, guardian, teacher, caseworker, or neighbor tells us about a child whose birthday deserves to be noticed. The form takes about ten minutes.
Step 2
Our team reviews it
We read every submission carefully and reach out with any questions. Reviewing takes time because we want each celebration planned around the individual child.
Step 3
A sponsor is matched
Sponsors, community partners, and donors provide gifts, cake, decorations, or funding for the celebration.
Step 4
The celebration is planned
We build the details around what the child actually loves, including sensory needs, accessibility, dietary needs, and communication preferences.
Step 5
The child is celebrated
The birthday happens. With family consent, we may share photos so the community can see the impact of their support.
